MetaFund Makes Key Hire to Support Growth
OKLAHOMA CITY—Oklahoma City-based MetaFund, a nonprofit Community Development Financial Institution, is proud to announce the hiring of Ed Long in the position of Vice President to facilitate the expansion of MetaFund’s financing and community development activities.
Long brings more than 15 years of public and nonprofit sector experience to MetaFund. He previously served as Founder and Principal of Cross Sector Innovations where he worked with community and governmental partners to develop enhanced public-private partnerships and innovative service models to improve social outcomes. He has supported mission-driven organizations in a variety of policy areas, including criminal justice, child welfare, workforce development, healthcare, mental health, early education, and housing.
Long will help to support MetaFund’s existing successful New Markets Tax Credit business which has facilitated over $200 million of capital for projects in Oklahoma. Additionally, he will focus on new opportunities for MetaFund including public-private partnerships, collaboration with foundations, and the ability to provide more hands-on technical assistance and consulting to MetaFund’s clients.
“We are excited to welcome Ed to the MetaFund team where he will expand our efforts to improve social and economic outcomes for disadvantaged communities,” said Blake Trippet, MetaFund’s president. “Ed has the experience, network, and expertise needed to advise social-sector organizations working to pioneer models like Pay for Success and outcomes-oriented funding. This is a natural pairing with MetaFund’s existing community development financing activities and will improve our ability to support innovative solutions that effectively break the cycle of poverty.”
