For Immediate Release
July 31, 2023
OKLAHOMA CITY —Ed Long has been named president of the Oklahoma Impact Investing Collaborative (Collaborative), a subsidiary of Oklahoma-based nonprofit MetaFund, where he previously served as Chief Impact Officer. Long has more than 20 years of public service experience in Oklahoma.
“Philanthropic support for the Collaborative and a commitment by state government, private, and nonprofit partners have made Oklahoma a national leader in innovative public-private partnerships focused on paying for results,” said Long. “Together, we have proven that working across sectors creates positive outcomes for Oklahomans and results in more efficient and effective spending of taxpayer dollars.”
The Collaborative was co-founded in 2020 by Long and MetaFund and has already deployed more than $4.6 million. Recent investments include programs focused on child welfare, workforce development, homelessness, healthcare, education, and food insecurity.
“Ed's unwavering passion for meaningful impacts and his deep partnerships across the Oklahoma community made him a natural fit for this position,” said Sarah Reed, CEO of MetaFund. “He will undoubtedly continue to propel the Collaborative to new achievements and meaningful partnerships under his new title as President. We are excited about this new chapter and look forward to supporting this extension of MetaFund in creating positive impacts and sustainable change in Oklahoma and beyond.”
The Collaborative invests in a variety of outcome areas and is currently seeking increased investments in rural health and workforce development. “These are critical areas for stronger public-private partnership in support of community-driven solutions across the state. There is no reason we can’t remove barriers and significantly improve the path forward for Oklahomans to accomplish their goals which in turn builds a stronger state,” Long added.
